Solutions:

Research and Concept Development: We immersed ourselves in Kyiv’s culture to develop a refreshed web identity for the project, including new web elements, illustrations, and fonts. We conducted research on key tourist attractions to shape the project’s visual representation. Additionally, we worked closely with the client, gathering a list of user pain points and needs based on analytics from the existing website. This allowed us to create a project that combines an engaging and aesthetically pleasing design with the rich variety of objects on the site that users can explore.



Design: The Kyiv Guide website was visually friendly and enjoyable to navigate, but many solutions lacked user-friendliness. The main challenge we uncovered through user interviews was that visitors often didn’t understand the site’s purpose. To address this, we simplified the design of entity cards, making them uniform with subtle differences. This consistency improved the overall usability and aesthetic cohesion of the site. The visual design draws inspiration from the Kyiv Digital identity but with our unique upgrade 😉. Our primary goal as designers was to create a minimalist interface that’s visually striking and aesthetically pleasing, highlighting the beauty of the city while maintaining the project’s approachable vibe. The visual style blends modern trends with authentic elements of Kyiv’s charm. We incorporated interactive features and custom illustrations inspired by chestnuts, iconic architecture, and other local themes, creating a design that feels both fresh and rooted in the city’s character.



Development: We developed an interactive city map integrated with 360° panoramas, videos, and textual content. The design is fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices. Additionally, we optimized loading speeds for smooth browsing, even with slower internet connections. A user-friendly admin panel was also created to manage site content and streamline the validation process for organizations. These organizations, such as sports clubs, can register on the site, manage their profiles, and add their own articles, 3D objects, or routes. All submitted content undergoes validation by the "ГІОЦ" administrator via the admin panel, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the platform.

Technologies: Built the web platform using modern frameworks for performance and scalability. Integrated APIs for real-time content updates.


Results: Successfully launched the web portal guide.kyivcity.gov.ua, providing tourists and Kyiv residents a new way to explore the city. Attracted over 20 000 unique visitors in the first month after launch. Earned high user ratings for ease of use, aesthetic appeal, and interactivity.
